もうそろそろ入荷も落ち着く時期になりますが、次々と入荷があります。新しく仲間入りするアイテムを楽しみな待っています。
BOWWOW(バウワウ) / PAINT STAINED CHAMBRAY SHIRT, VENT HOLES -AGED INDIGO-
1940年代までは作業着メーカーが乱立し、他社との差別化が必須の時代。
ワークシャツは単なる作業着ではなく、機能性が直結するプロツールであり、その性能差はブランド価値に直結していた。
労働者は信頼するブランドを長く愛用する傾向が強く、各社は機能面での競争を繰り広げていた。
そんな中、1940年代後半にはほぼ姿を消した、ベンチレーション用の菊穴を多数配したワークシャツは、炭鉱・鉄道・製鉄所など高温環境の作業用として重宝され、現在のヴィンテージ市場では特に評価の高い逸品。
今回製作したモデルは、シャンブレー生地を採用し、当時の経年による風合いまで表現したビンテージライクな佇まいに仕上げた。
サイジングはヴィンテージにない、オールド感を保ったファッション性の高いフィッティング。
Up until the 1940s, there was a proliferation of workwear manufacturers, and differentiation from one another was essential.
Work shirts were not simply workwear; they were professional tools directly linked to functionality, and differences in performance were directly linked to brand value.
Workers tended to stick with brands they trusted for a long time, and companies competed on the basis of functionality.
Amid this, work shirts with numerous eyelets for ventilation, which had all but disappeared by the late 1940s, were highly valued for work in high-temperature environments such as coal mines, railways, and steel mills, and are now particularly highly valued in the vintage market.
This new model uses chambray fabric and has a vintage-like appearance that even captures the aged texture of the time.
The sizing provides a fashionable fit while retaining an old-fashioned feel not found in vintage shirts.

架空の大学 ST.MACLAREN UNIV. のチームスピリットを象徴する、インディアンヘッドのワッペンを前身に配したクルーネックスウェット。
1940〜50年代のカレッジウェアをベースに、当時の学生が誇りを胸に過ごしたキャンパスライフをイメージして製作。
かなり肉厚でドライな質感のスウェット生地をオリジナルで編み立て、着込みによって生まれたフェード感や細かな毛羽立ちを再現。
スタジャンとのセットアップはもちろん、単体でも存在感を放つ一枚。ヴィンテージカレッジカルチャーの空気を現代のスタイルに落とし込んだBOW WOWらしい提案。
This crew neck sweatshirt features an Indian head patch on the front, symbolizing the team spirit of the fictional university, St. Maclaren Univ.
Based on college wear from the 1940s and 1950s, it was created with the image of the campus life that students of the time proudly lived.
The sweatshirt fabric is specially knitted to give it a fairly thick, dry texture, recreating the faded look and fine fuzziness that develops with wear.
It looks great on its own, as well as paired with a varsity jacket. A typical BOW WOW design that brings the vibe of vintage college culture to a modern style.

架空の大学 ST.MACLAREN UNIV. のキャンパスで、誇りを胸に学び舎を闊歩する学生たち。背面には学校の象徴であるインディアンヘッドのワッペンを大ぶりに配し、アスリートたちの結束を示す。
本作は、1940〜50年代のカレッジスタイルを踏襲しつつ、当時の学生が自ら毛糸を編み、オリジナルのリブへ付け替えたという設定でデザイン。手仕事ならではの不揃いな編み目や、経年によって生まれた毛羽立ちを表現している。
ウールメルトンのボディは、長年の着用を経たようなやれた風合いを再現。実在しない大学を舞台に、古き良きアメリカンカレッジの物語をBOW WOWらしい解釈で落とし込んだ一着。
Students proudly strut their stuff on the campus of the fictional university, St. Maclaren University. A large Indian head patch, the school’s symbol, appears on the back, showcasing the unity of its athletes.
This piece follows the college style of the 1940s and 50s, but is designed as if students of the time knitted the yarn themselves and replaced the ribbing with original material. It expresses the uneven stitches that can only be achieved through handcrafting, as well as the fuzziness that develops over time.
The wool Melton body recreates the worn texture of years of wear. Set at a fictional university, this piece is a BOW WOW interpretation of the story of a good old American college.

I remember finding this at a thrift store a long time ago, and it was a skookum. It has a college-style varsity jacket vibe, and is filled with a cute design. It’s a little oversized, so it would look great on a girl.
