本日は、個人買いもしたBOW WOWからの新作をご紹介致します。
BOWWOW(バウワウ) / PW SWEAT PANTS AGED -OATMEAL-
PWの文字を、戦時中に支給品へ直接記されていた識別表示のような感覚で配置し、戦争捕虜が着用していた衣類の空気感をそのまま写し取るイメージで構成している。無機質で乾いた表情を残し、上半身と同じ緊張感を足元まで繋げている。 起毛無しのオールシーズン対応厚地裏毛を使用し、特別な編み機が生み出すヴィンテージの質感を活かした仕上がり。ラフさの中に芯のある表情を残している。 股上を深く取り、スラックスのようなラインを意識したシルエットで設計。スウェットでありながら、だらしなく見えないバランスにしている。 裾は切りっ放し仕様とし、未完成感と荒さをあえて残すことで、古いスウェット特有の空気感と違和感を表現している。
The letters “PW” are placed in a way that evokes the identification markings directly inscribed on issued items during wartime, creating an image that directly captures the atmosphere of clothing worn by prisoners of war. It retains an inorganic, dry look, carrying the same tension down to the feet as the upper body. Made with thick, all-season fleece fabric without brushing, it has a vintage texture created by a special knitting machine. It retains a core look within its roughness. The rise is deep, and the silhouette is designed with the lines of slacks in mind. It is a sweatshirt, but it is balanced so that it does not look sloppy. The hem is left raw, deliberately leaving an unfinished and rough feel to express the unique atmosphere and sense of incongruity of old sweatshirts.
パンツの内側にも謎にポケットがついており、それぞれの用途にお使いください。(笑)
生地もガシガシ洗ってもくたらないような頑固なタフな生地になっています。
There’s even a mysterious pocket on the inside of the pants; please use it for whatever purpose you like.

The fabric is also incredibly tough and durable, so it won’t wear out even after repeated washing.

PWの文字を、戦時中に支給品へ直接記されていた識別表示のような感覚で配置し、戦争捕虜が着用していた衣類の空気感をそのまま写し取るイメージで構成している。整えすぎない表情と無機質な佇まいで、当時の緊張感と閉塞感を含んだムードを残している。 1950〜60年代に見られる、クルースウェットの袖をカットオフして着られていた個体の文脈を踏まえ、そのラフな改変を一つのスタイルとして取り入れている。 強めに効かせた裾リブと、ヴィンテージ仕様の厚地裏毛が合わさることで、簡素な中に重みのある表情を持たせている。

The unpolished look and inorganic appearance retain the mood of tension and confinement from that era. Taking into account the context of crewneck sweatshirts worn with the sleeves cut off, as seen in the 1950s and 60s, this rough modification is incorporated as a style. The strongly defined ribbed hem and the thick, vintage-style fleece lining give the simple design a weighty feel.
カスレ具合のプリントや首元のVINTAGE加工の技術にもかなりセンスを感じます。ガンガン着用してもっとVINTAGE感を出していきたい。
I really appreciate the sense of style in the faded print and the vintage processing around the neckline. I want to wear it a lot to bring out even more of that vintage feel.
