しかし、1920年頃、害虫被害で産地が壊滅し、幻のコットンとまで言われるほど入手が困難になりました。
そのアメリカンシーアイランドコットンが100年の時を経て復活し、奇跡の綿花として称されています。
実際に手に取っていただけるとわかりますが、かなりもっちりした肌触りで、1枚でもインナーでも使いやすいサイズ感ですので、持っておくと1年中着れるアイテムです。

However, around 1920, pest infestations devastated the production areas, making the cotton so difficult to obtain that it became known as a “phantom” variety.
After a century-long hiatus, American Sea Island Cotton has made a comeback and is now hailed as a “miracle cotton.”
